The Dead Forest (ers)

Again it has been a while...
My Gold Forester XT had the power steering pump rebuilt and replaced and within a day blew the stock TD04 turbo. My mate found what appears to be an exhaust pressure sensor in the turbo. So we replaced this with a VF48 to get it up and running.

This got the car back on the road but it required a tune. This lasted a couple of weeks of commuting but then also died.. Upcoming the car was going to require a new timing belt & waterpump but my mate reckons the waterpump failed and in turn killed the new turbo too.. much to my disappointment i couldn't justify spending more money on the Foz as she was approaching 300,000km. So i sold it to an interstate buyer cheap because he had a spare motor sitting there and an emotional purpose with the build.

Being without a car is stressful, luckily a mate came to the rescue with 2003 Forester X...

This had been sitting for 12 months, brakes need work and also required a major service as it had been skipped. After 6 months of getting me to/from work (which was what i now needed) the clutch went. So this is now waiting for me to take some pics and move her on. I love foresters, they are easy to drive, practical and suprisingly capable on various surfaces offroad (AWD but they are actually quite light for what they are).
In the future, should parking or garage space permit, I want to get another Forester Turbo, they are honestly fantastic cars... i just need to remember that by the 250'000km mark, everything will likely need to be replaced/rebuilt (and thats ok).
