It's been a weird couple of years when it comes to vehicles.. I sold my Honda CBR600RR June 2023 to help fund a business. I miss my bike... a lot. But since moving where i live in 2020 and storing my bike at a mates, i just wasn't allocating the time it deserved. I know I'll get another bike much sooner rather than later but i still miss it.
I like a lot of cars & bikes from a lot of car manufacturers but I do love Hondas. I had an EK1 (d16y4 then b16a2) for 9 years and had my CBR for 7 years.
When the clutch on the Forester X went, I picked up a 2005 BA XR6 from a mate for daily duties, my son liked it too so the intention was for him to have it once he got his licence.
The day i test drove the XR6 I had also test driven a FN2 Civic Type R... Body wise I've never been a fan of the rear of them but I took it for a drive and it was suprisingly great... I liked it a lot more than i thought i would. It's aircon wasn't working, in fact it was blowing hot air, and from the factory they can use up to 1L per 1000km of oil and that is within manufacturer spec. The Foz XT liked oil and so did the EK1 once it was B-Swapped. If i'm completely honest, if the aircon worked I would've bought it.
So, I now had an XR6 daily for the work commute. Quite literally the next day an add for a 2007 CL9 Accord Euro came up. I test drove a stock manual accord euro prior to picking up the Forester XT in 2020 but the clutch needed to be done so i gave it a miss. I thought I'll just have a look at the Accord, it looks clean and is manual. Has highish km but I'll just look. It was clean, not showroom but great condition. I took it for a test drive and thought FML... I want this car. It was like a mix of driving the EK, FN2 and with the torque of a bigger motor like the Forester XT. That was that, I bought the CL9 and my mate bought the XR6. So thats where its at... a CL9, another CBR down the track and should space permit, another Forester XT and a Honda Grom..
